Rule 44-25. Plea of Nolo Contendere to Infraction or Violation

Any resident of Connecticut or of a state that is a signatory with Connecticut of a no-bail compact who is charged with any infraction or with any violation which is payable by mail pursuant to statute may pay the penalty, either by mail or in person, to the centralized infractions bureau at the address set forth on the complaint on or before the answer date designated in the complaint or, if the case is pending at a court location, may pay the penalty by mail or in person at such court location. The payment of the fine shall be considered a plea of nolo contendere and shall be inadmissible in any proceeding, criminal or civil, to establish the conduct of the person making such payment, except for any administrative sanctions imposed by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles pursuant to title 14 of the General Statutes.
